TCR were approached by various specialist suppliers of shavings to source a machine for the production of consistently high quality wood shavings from round logs suitable for animal and poultry bedding.

TCR are pleased that we located the BLUE DIAMOND Shavings Machines, which TCR have now supplied to several UK companies who specialise in the supply of high quality shavings into the equestrian and poultry bedding market.

Without reservation they are very satisfied with the quality of the woodshavings produced by the BLUE DIAMOND . (Two of our customers have already taken delivery of their second twin box machine and are already considering the installation of further BLUE DIAMOND shavings mill). Due to the success of our BLUE DIAMOND installations in the UK. TCR have now agreed with the original manufacturers of the BLUE DIAMOND that all machines sold into Europe can now be manufactured here in the UK. TCR have recently supplied our first UK built machine complete with electrical panel and motors into Ireland.

General Description

The BLUE DIAMOND Shavings Machine comprises one or two log holding boxes (depending on requirements), which travel back and forth over the top of the cutter heads, two under each box. Shavings are produced by the “planing” of the logs, the quality and specification of the shavings being influenced by the speed of the log box and the setting of the knives in the cutterheads … as well as by the species and condition of the logs. The shavings are discharged below the cutterheads, where they should be collected and removed by conveyors, which can be supplied at extra cost. The log holding boxes are driven through a differential gearbox linked to heavy roller chains attached with shock absorbing cushion hitches to ensure a smooth travel. The log holding boxes are most commonly loaded from a central position with an operator pushing or rolling the logs from a log haul chain or from a central log deck. Automatic log loading arrangements can be provided at extra cost.
